Made By Dad is designed around a simple privacy principle: a child should be able to colour without creating an account or sending their creative work to us.
Made By Dad is operated in the United Kingdom by Sean Scott, who is responsible for this website and acts as the data controller for any information sent directly to Made By Dad.
1. This website
This website does not use advertising cookies, analytics scripts, tracking pixels, user accounts or contact forms. It does not ask children or parents to submit personal information.
If you choose an email link, your email application opens and any message you send is handled by your email provider and received by Made By Dad. Do not include a child's personal information or artwork unless it is genuinely necessary for a support request.
The hosting provider may process ordinary technical request information, such as an IP address, browser type, requested page and time of access, as part of operating and securing the website. Made By Dad does not use that information to profile visitors or advertise to them.
2. Colouring Book: Made By Dad
Made By Dad does not receive or store a child's name, artwork or app activity on its servers. The app has no child accounts, sign-in, advertising, third-party analytics SDKs or behavioural tracking.
3. Information stored on the device
The app stores the child's chosen name, book title, theme, settings and colouring data locally on the device using app storage such as IndexedDB and local storage. This allows a picture to be continued later.
Saved colouring does not leave the device and is not accessible to Made By Dad. Because we do not hold a cloud copy, we cannot view or recover artwork if the app is deleted, its data is cleared or the device is lost.
The app may also keep a local cache showing which store content is owned. Apple or Google store receipts remain the production source of truth for purchases.
4. Sharing, Photos and printing
When a grown-up chooses to save an image to Photos, share it or print it, the app uses the device's native features. The chosen destination and any information sent there are controlled by the grown-up and governed by the relevant device service or receiving app.
5. Paid unlocks
The commercial app may offer parent-gated, one-time purchases such as category packs, a full core-book unlock, add-on packs or future seasonal packs. A maths check separates the purchase area from the child's colouring flow; payment protection and authentication are then provided by Apple or Google and the grown-up's device settings.
On iOS and Android, Apple or Google processes the purchase and returns the entitlement needed to show purchased content as unlocked. Made By Dad does not receive payment-card details. Store reporting associated with a purchase is governed by the grown-up's Apple or Google account and the platform's own privacy terms.
6. Offline use and third parties
Once installed, the pictures included in the current unlock can be coloured offline. Apple and Google store services are used for grown-up purchases and restoring purchases. The app does not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.
7. Children's privacy
The app is intended for children to use with a parent or guardian. It is designed to minimise children's data by avoiding accounts, tracking, analytics, advertising and data collection. Store privacy declarations and age-rating information will reflect the final submitted app build.
8. Changes to this policy
If the website or app's data practices change, this policy will be updated and the date at the top revised. A change that introduces a new type of collection or third-party service will be reviewed before release.
